There's abundant health information on the Web, but not all is reliable. The Web sites listed below contain a wide variety of health topics and are recommended for your use. If you prefer to conduct your own search for health topics on the Web, watch for the logos for HON (Health on the Net) or URAC (a health Web site accreditation), indicating that the Web content meets the quality standards of at least one of these organizations.

FamilyDoctor.org — health information for the entire family, from the American Academy of Family Physicians

KidsHealth.org — a health Web site for kids, teens and parents from Nemours, a nonprofit organization devoted to children's health

MayoClinic.com — wide variety of health information, interesting news and articles, and healthy recipes

InteliHealth.com — well organized information from Aetna, with Harvard Medical School and Columbia University College of Dental Medicine as content partners.

WebMD — a popular online magazine with a wide variety of health topics—even pet health.
